2009 Birthday Honours

The Queen's Birthday Honours 2009 were appointments by some of the 16 Commonwealth realms of Queen Elizabeth II to various orders and honours to recognise and reward good works by citizens of those countries. The Birthday Honours are awarded as part of the Queen's Official Birthday celebrations during the month of June. The Queen's Birthday Honours were announced on 12 June 2009 in the United Kingdom, on 8 June 2009 in Australia, on 1 June 2009 in New Zealand, and on 15 June 2009 in The Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Belize, and Antigua & Barbuda.
