The 2012 Arctic Winter Games took place in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada from the 4th to the 10th of March 2012. The Arctic Winter Games is an international biannual celebration of circumpolar sports and culture, held in Canada, Alaska or Greenland. Over 2,000 athletes from nine teams (Alaska, Alberta North, Yukon, Yamal-Nenets, Northwest Territories, Greenland, Nunavik Québec, Nunavut and Sápmi) participated in the games.
