AB v CD (Australia)
AB v CD; EF v CD is a decision of the High Court of Australia. The decision is notable for having in effect revealed the 'Lawyer X' scandal to the public. At issue was the use of Nicola Gobbo as a secret informant by the Victorian Police. Gobbo was a member of the Victorian Bar, and her use as an informant was in breach of numerous legal duties that she owed to her clients. Her informing enabled a large number of successful prosecutions by the Victorian Crown; especially against people associated with organised crime.
