Abraham (Persian saint)
Saint Abraham, is a Persian saint from the 4th century AD. Abraham was one of the four companions of Sapor of Bet-Nicator (also known as Shapur of Bet-Nicator), a Christian bishop of Bet-Nicator. Sapor and four of his companions were reported to King Shapur II, on the basis of their having preached against the Zoroastrian religion. After being subjected to prolonged torture, Bishop Sapor died in prison on November 20, 339. His companions in martyrdom included Abraham, declared a saint. There is no record of a feast day for Abraham or any of the other individuals.
