Adolf A. Berle

Adolf Augustus Berle Jr. (/ˈbɜːrli/; January 29, 1895 – February 17, 1971) was a lawyer, educator, author, and diplomat from the United States. He was the author of The Modern Corporation and Private Property, a groundbreaking work on corporate governance, a professor at Columbia University, and an important member of US President Franklin Roosevelt's "Brain Trust."
