Alexander Bryce (physician)

Alexander Bryce (4 April 1863 - 7 June 1942) was a Scottish physician and dietitian. Bryce was born on 4 April 1863. He graduated M.B. with honours from Glasgow University and won the Brunton Memorial Prize in 1886. He obtained his M.D. in 1893 with honours. After graduation he was House-Surgeon to the Paisley Infirmary and Fever Hospital for several years. In 1894 he began practicing medicine in Birmingham and developed an interest in dietetics. Bryce was an advocate of autointoxication and authored a book on the subject in 1921. He died in Moseley, aged 79.
