Anavyssos

Anavyssos (Greek: Ανάβυσσος) is a town and a former municipality in East Attica, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Saronikos, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 14.478 km2. At the 2011 census it had 6,202 inhabitants. It is part of Athens metropolitan area. Anavyssos is located on the area of the ancient Attica's demos of Anaflystos (Ανάφλυστος), which has shown significant archaeological findings like Kroisos Kouros that is exhibited in the National Archaeological Museum of Athens.
