Aranyak (Bengali: আরণ্যক /aɾonːok/, literally “forest-grown, pertaining to forest”) composed between 1937 and 1939 is a famous Bengali novel by Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay based on his long and arduous years in northern Bihar, mainly in the districts of Purnea and Bhagalpur, where he came into contact with a part of the world, that, even now, remains unknown to most of us.
