Assyrian Aid Society

The Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq (AAS-Iraq) was founded as the Assyrian Aid and Social Society in Iraq as an Assyrian organization for the purpose of providing humanitarian aid to Assyrian Christians in the Assyrian homeland, Bet Nahrain. The AAS was established in direct response to the humanitarian crisis following the 1991 Gulf War and the hardships suffered by the Assyrian people during Saddam Hussein's rule in Iraq. Its headquarters is located in Dohuk, Iraq.
