British Asian people (also referred to as British Asians or Asian Britons) are a multi-ethnic group of UK residents who identify as and are perceived to be Asian people. They constitute a significant and growing minority of the people living in the United Kingdom, with 6.9% of the population identifying as Asian in the 2011 United Kingdom census. This represented a national demographic increase from a 4.4% share of UK population in 2001.
