Brothers of Jesus

The New Testament describes James, Joseph (Joses), Judas (Jude), and Simon as brothers of Jesus (Greek: ἀδελφοί, romanized: adelphoi, lit. 'brothers'). Also mentioned, but not named, are sisters of Jesus. The literal translation of the words "brother" and "sister" is an objective problem because there are few quotations and because the words have various meanings in the family of Semitic languages, while the Koine Greek in which the New Testament is written likewise uses the words more broadly.
