C. C. Torbert Jr.

Clement Clay "Bo" Torbert Jr. (August 31, 1929 – June 2, 2018) was an American jurist. He was the twenty-fifth Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court from 1977 through 1989. Torbert was born in Lee County, Alabama, the son of Clement Clay Torbert Jr. and Lynda H. Meadows, and the grandson of Clement Clay Torbert Sr. and Aylmerine Spearman Floyd. Clement Clay Sr. was from Society Hill, where his grandfather, James Torbert, served as the first postmaster. He died on June 2, 2018, at his home, at the age of 88.
