COVID-19 pandemic in Kerala

The first case of the COVID-19 pandemic in Kerala (which was also the first in all of India) was confirmed in Thrissur on 30 January 2020. On 12 May 2021 Kerala reported the largest single day spike with 43,529 new cases. As of 1 July 2021, there have been 29,37,033 confirmed cases, test positivity rate is at 10.3% (12.66% cumulative), (more than the national average) with 28,21,151 (96.05%) recoveries and 13,359 deaths in the state.
