Canadian Coalition for the Rights of Children

The Canadian Coalition for the Rights of Children (CCRC) is one of Canada's foremost national children's rights advocacy groups, dating back to 1989. The coalition consists of more than fifty non-governmental organizations. The CCRC hosted a forum called "Children: Silenced Citizens?" in 2007 to discuss the CRC. The CCRC submitted a plea on behalf of Omar Khadr in the 2009 legal case Prime Minister of Canada et al. v. Omar Ahmed Khadr. Also on 2009, the organization established a Child Rights Award.
