Church in Wales

The Church in Wales (Welsh: Yr Eglwys yng Nghymru) is the Anglican church in Wales, composed of six dioceses. The Archbishop of Wales does not have a fixed archiepiscopal see, but serves concurrently as one of the six diocesan bishops. The position was most recently held by John Davies, Bishop of Swansea and Brecon. Since Davies' retirement, certain archiepiscopal functions are carried out by Andrew John, Bishop of Bangor, as senior bishop of the Church.
