Edwin E. Bryant

Edwin Eustace Bryant (January 10, 1835 – August 11, 1903) was an American lawyer and politician. Born in Milton, Vermont, he taught school and then moved to Janesville, Wisconsin, where he studied law and was admitted to the Wisconsin bar. Bryant then moved to Monroe, Wisconsin, and was part-owner and editor of the Monroe Sentinel. During the American Civil War, he served with the 3rd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment and the 50th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment. He went back to Monroe, Wisconsin, to practice law. In 1868, he was named adjutant general of Wisconsin and private secretary to the Governor of Wisconsin Lucius Fairchild. In Madison, Wisconsin, he practiced law with United States Senator William Vilas. He was also part owner and editor of the Madison Democrat. He serve
