Emerald Airlines is an Irish regional airline, based in Dublin. The airline is due to commence operations due in January 2023.In November 2020, it was announced that Emerald Airlines was chosen by Aer Lingus as the preferred operator of the Aer Lingus Regional franchise. As of April 2021 it had not received an Air operator's certificate but reports suggest that the airline has made an application to the Department of Transport licensing division, the Commission for Aviation Regulation for an Air Carrier Operating Licence, which entitles the holder to sell flights to the public.
