Deriot E. "Gene" Smith (d. April 6, 1987) was an American football and wrestling coach. He served as the head football coach at Central State College—now the University of Central Oklahoma—from 1950 and 1951, compiling a career college football record of 9–10, and one conference championship. He ranks 9th all-time for Broncho coaches in winning percentage, number of games coached and victories.
