Georgy Bazilevich

Georgy Dmitrievich Bazilevich (January 26, 1889 – March 3, 1939) was a Soviet komkor (corps commander). He fought for the Imperial Russian Army during World War I before going over to the Bolsheviks in the subsequent Civil War. He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner (1924) and the Order of the Red Star (1938). During the Great Purge, he was arrested on November 23, 1938 and later executed. After the death of Joseph Stalin, he was rehabilitated in 1955.
