Ger Maycock
Ger Mayock (8 December 1970 – 7 May 2006), was an Irish artist. Mayock was a native of Ross West, Castlebar, County Mayo, moving to Dublin 1988 to study Film at Dún Laoghaire College of Art and Design. He graduated in 1993 and in that year directed a film entitled ‘War’, which was subsequently screened in Ireland and at film festivals in Europe. Mayock lived and worked in New York City, Paris and Prague before returning to Ireland in 1996. A granite sculpture he finished in 2004 is now a permanent feature of the grounds of Farmleigh House, County Dublin.
