Greece is expected to compete at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games have been postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Greek athletes have competed in every Summer Olympic Games of the modern era, alongside Australia, Great Britain, and Switzerland. As the progenitor nation of the Olympic Games and in keeping with tradition, Greece is expected to enter first at the New National Stadium during the opening ceremony.
