Gwoździec Synagogue

The synagogue was erected around 1650 in Gwoździec (Ukrainian: Гвіздець - Hvizdets), then in the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, today in the Kolomyia Raion, Ukraine.The building was seriously damaged in a fire during World War I. It was rebuilt in the interwar period, but destroyed completely by the Germans in 1941. The painted ceiling and timber-frame roof were reconstructed between 2011 and 2013 for POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, in Warsaw.
