Lt. Gen. Herman Franciscus Maria baron van Voorst tot Voorst (The Hague, August 2, 1886 - July 9, 1971) was a Dutch Army officer and politician. He was the son of Jan Joseph Godfried van Voorst tot Voorst Senior, and a younger brother of General Godfried van Voorst tot Voorst. In 1915, he married Felicia Maria baroness Schimmelpenninck van der Oye (1889-1952).He attended the Royal Military Academy in Breda and The Hague as well as the Cavalry School at Saumur. Baron van Voorst tot Voorst was appointed in February 1940 as Chief of the General Staff, under the Supreme Commander of the Land and Naval Forces, General Henri Winkelman.
