Hohai University

Hohai University (Chinese: 河海大学; pinyin: Héhǎi Dàxué) is a research university in Nanjing, China under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education of China. From 1958 to 2000 it was administered by the Ministry of Water Resources. The University, named after "河海 (Hohai)" which means river and sea in Chinese, is famous for its water engineering and water science programs. Some even say Hohai University is the " 黄埔军校 (Whampoa Military Academy)" in the Chinese water engineering industry for the fact that it has cultivated countless talents for the developments and welfares of the modern Chinese water conservancy.
