Immortals (esports)
Immortals is a professional esports organization based in the United States owned by Immortals Gaming Club. It was founded on October 7, 2015 after the acquisition of Team 8's LCS spot. Immortals applied for a franchise partnership with the LCS when the league began franchising in late 2017, but their application was declined by Riot Games due to financial concerns, despite the fact that they were one of three North American teams to qualify for the 2017 World Championship. However, in mid-2019 they rejoined the LCS after their parent company, Immortals Gaming Club, bought out OpTic Gaming and their LCS spot.
