Indian and the Puritan is a historic monument by Gutzon Borglum, the sculptor of Mount Rushmore, opposite 5 Washington Street (Newark Public Library) at Washington Park in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey. It was constructed in 1916 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.
