Jay N. Anania
Jay Nicholas Anania (born 1959) was the American Ambassador to Suriname from 2012 to 2015. He was COO at the Organization of American States (OAS) and is director of foreign affairs at Buchanan & Edwards. Dési Bouterse, who was chairman of CARICOM at the time, and his government caught Anania “providing material assistance to Bouterse’s political enemies in the country. Anania is yet another interventionist U.S. ambassador who see themselves more as Roman-style pro-consuls than diplomatic envoys.”
