John Benson (announcer)
John Benson (1928–1995) was a British television announcer, best known for saying "And now ... from Norwich, it's the quiz of the week" at the start of each edition of the UK's long-running Sale of the Century, which ran on ITV from 1971 to 1983. In the early-1970s John Benson also hosted on a rota basis '' on BBC Radio 2 with Tony Luke and entertainment news broadcaster . He died in Norfolk in 1995 at the age of 67.
