Johnny Unitas

John Constantine Unitas (/juːˈnaɪtəs/; May 7, 1933 – September 11, 2002) was a National Football League (NFL) quarterback for 18 seasons, primarily with the Baltimore Colts. He has been consistently listed as one of the greatest NFL players of all time following a career that spanned from 1956 to 1973. Nicknamed "Johnny U" and the "Golden Arm", Unitas was considered the prototype of the modern era marquee quarterback. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1979.
