Joop Linthorst
Joop Linthorst (1948 – April 2021) was a Dutch politician. He was alderman of Rotterdam for 13 years. He was named by the mayor of Rotterdam and by the Minister of Internal Affairs Bram Peper as the "Best alderman of Rotterdam after World War II". He was most known as one of the key persons behind the development of the Kop van Zuid and building the Erasmus Bridge. The Kunsthal was an idea of Linthorst. He was chairman of the Employee Insurance association until 2017. Linthorst died in April 2021, aged 72.
