Joseph Newmark
Joseph Newmark (1799–1881) was a Prussian-American businessman in New York City and Los Angeles. He helped found Jewish congregations in both cities and later became an ordained rabbi. After immigrating from Prussia to New York City, he was a co-founder there of B'nai Jeshurun. He moved to the West Coast, briefly living and working in San Francisco.
