K. Parasuraman was born on 15 December 1960 in Pudur Village, Orathanadu Taluk at Thanjavur District, Tamil Nadu. His father U. Kuppusamy is a farmer. His mother is K.Thangammal. Parasuraman has two sisters and two brothers. After graduating from Poondi Pushpam College, he moved to Thanjavur. Parasuraman married Smt.P.Vijayalakshmi on 16 July 1990. He has a daughter and a son. He represented the Neelagiri Panchayat as President three times. He also holds following positions: Member : Standing Committee on Urban Development (Govt. of India) Chairman: Telephone Advisory Committee for Thanjavur SSA
