Kenneth Cummins

Captain Kenneth Alfred Hugo Cummins (6 March 1900 – 10 December 2006) was, at age 106, one of the last surviving British veterans of the First World War. He served in the Royal Naval Reserve in the First World War, as a (Temporary) Midshipman,(15 July 1918 – 18 January 1919) and then in the Merchant Navy in the Second World War. He became a Younger Brother of Trinity House in 1947, and was the Senior Younger Brother at his death. In retirement, he worked as a nautical assessor for the of the Home Office. He also served as chairman of the planning committee of from 1962 until 1974.
