Luis Garcia (politician)
Luis R. García, Jr. is a Democratic politician from Florida and the retired Fire Department Chief of Miami Beach. He served three terms in the Florida House of Representatives, representing parts of Miami Beach, Miami, and Coral Gables from 2006 to 2012. Previously, he served for seven years on the Miami Beach City Commission. In 2012, rather than run for re-election to the House, García ran for the Miami-Dade County Commission in District 5. He was defeated by incumbent Bruno Barreiro in the general election, 52 to 48%.
