Maiken Caspersen Falla

Maiken Caspersen Falla (born 13 August 1990) is a Norwegian cross-country skier who specializes in sprint and short distance races. She is the 2014 Olympic champion in the individual sprint and three-time Olympic medalist. She became the individual sprint World champion at the 2017 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships and successfully defended her World title in 2019. Falla has won total of 5 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals at the World Championships in her career and she is the most medalled skier in the individual sprint discipline in the Championship history with 5 medals. Winner of three consecutive Sprint World Cup crystal globes, Falla's highest finish in the overall World Cup standings is sixth-place which she achieved in 2014–15 and 2015–16 World Cup seasons.
