Masih (title)
Masih is the Arabic translation of the Hebrew title messiah, meaning "the anointed one". It is used by Muslims as both a name and a title, for Isa (Jesus), in the reciprocal use "Isa Masih", meaning "Messiah Isa", and independently as "the Masih". The word is also used by Arab Christians to refer to Jesus and is also used by Arab Jews to refer to the Jewish messiah.
