Max Talmey

Max Talmey (1869–1941) was a Lithuanian ophthalmologist best known for introducing Albert Einstein to books of natural science and his success in treating cataracts. Born into a poor Jewish family, Talmey first met Albert Einstein when Einstein was ten years old. Talmey was then attending Medical School in Germany. Talmey was a weekly lunch guest of Einstein's family. He gave Albert Einstein a number of books about science, including works by Aaron Bernstein.
