Ornö

Ornö is the largest island in the southern half of the Stockholm archipelago, situated just north of the island of Utö. It belongs to the municipality of Haninge. The island is approx. 15 km long and 3–4 km wide. The primary connection with the mainland, a car ferry line, is operated by Ornö Sjötrafik. This is a community owned company. The ferry goes between Dalarö on the mainland and Hässelmara on north-western Ornö. There are some 300 people living on the island all year round. During summertime, the number of people on the island multiplies.
