Piveteauia
Piveteauia is an extinct genus of prehistoric coelacanth fish which lived during the Lower Triassic period. The genus is named for twentieth century French vertebrate paleontologist Jean Piveteau. The type specimen was discovered in the in northwestern Madagascar by French paleoichthyologist .
