SQEP is an acronym, standing for Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person. Although not widely used, the term has gained some currency in the UK Nuclear power industry, see for example this safety management audit report from the Health and Safety Executive.In the UK nuclear context, it is a standard requirement for licensed sites that "The licensee shall make and implement adequate arrangements to ensure that only suitably qualified and experienced persons perform any duties which may affect the safety of operations on the site or any other duties assigned by or under these conditions or any arrangements required under these conditions.".
