Sarab, East Azerbaijan

Sarab (Persian: سراب‎; also Romanized as Sarāb) is a city and capital of Sarab County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 42,057, in 11,045 families. Sarab is famous for its rugs. From 1747 to 1813, it was the capital of the Sarab Khanate.
