Speed limits in Hong Kong

Most expressways in Hong Kong have a speed limit of 80 km/h. Older ones, such as Island Eastern Corridor, Tsuen Wan Road and Tuen Mun Road, as a rule have a 70 km/h limit. Expressways in the north of the New Territories and others including the West Kowloon Highway are limited to 100 km/h, and North Lantau Highway to 110 km/h, which is the highest speed limit in Hong Kong. Note that for safety reasons, the speed limit for buses, medium and heavy goods vehicles is 70 km/h for all roads with a general speed limit at or above 70 km/h.
