Steven P. DenBaars is an American material scientist, electrical engineer, and academic. DenBaars earned a B.Sc in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, at University of Arizona in 1984, and a Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from University of Southern California in 1988. In 1992 he was appointed as a professor in the Materials Department and the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department at University of California, Santa Barbara. DenBaars has over 800 published papers.
