The 2021 Atlantic hurricane season is an ongoing Atlantic hurricane season, part of the annual period of tropical cyclone formation in the Northern Hemisphere. It officially began on June 1, 2021, and will end on November 30, 2021. These dates, adopted by convention, historically describe the period in each year when most Northern Atlantic tropical cyclones form. However, tropical cyclogenesis is possible at any time of the year, as demonstrated by the formation of Tropical Storm Ana on May 22. This was the seventh consecutive year where a storm formed before the official start of the season.
