Tommy Lahiff

Thomas 'Tommy' 'Turk' Lahiff (31 July 1910 – 8 December 1996) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon, South Melbourne and Hawthorn in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and for Port Melbourne in the Victorian Football Association (VFA), before becoming a successful coach and radio commentator. In 1947, Lahiff was appointed as captain / coach of the Albury Football Club in the Ovens and Murray Football League (O&MFL). Albury won the O&MFL premiership under Lahiff in 1947. In 1949, Lahiff played in the South – Port Football Association for the Rising Star Football Club.
