West Molesey houseboat

The West Molesey houseboat is a residential barge moored on the River Thames, in West Molesey. Some locals call it the slumboat. The boat has made press frequently due to legal actions from the Environment Agency, and grievances on its occupants' behaviour and illegal discharges, from locals. As of March 2016, the boat has been moored illegally alongside Hurst Park for at least nine months. It is moored at a free, 24-hour mooring site and has overstayed. In early September 2015, the Environment Agency gave it a "notice of trespass" allowing 14 days to leave. It did not do so so in November 2015 the Agency announced its fine. The Agency said that it would be seeking legal compliance in the County Court.
