1989 Torneo Descentralizado

The 1989 Torneo Descentralizado, the top category of Peruvian football was played by 42 teams into the format of Regional Tournament. The national champion was Unión Huaral. Due to the 1989 Copa América, a minor tournament (1989 Torneo Plácido Galindo) was played in the middle of the year between the 42 clubs. The winner would qualify for the Liguilla Regional II Playoffs.
