The 2011–12 New Orleans Hornets season was the 10th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA). During the lockout, the Hornets were dealt with a cruel blow, trading Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Clippers. In their first season without their star playmaker, the Hornets finished the season with a mediocre 21-45 record. This led the team to drafting Anthony Davis from Kentucky with the first overall pick of the 2012 NBA draft.
