Ala, Gotland
Ala is a settlement on the Swedish island of Gotland. Formerly a socken, on 1 January 2016, it was reconstituted into the administrative area Ala District. Ala is known for the old carvings, some medival, of ships on the walls of the church tower. The carvings are reminiscent of the one in Fide.
