Alipore, Navsari

Alipore (pronounced Aalipore) is a village near Chikhli, Bilimora in the state of Gujarat in western India. The village is on the Indian National Highway 8, which leads to areas such as Ahwa via Waghai and Vansda, and to the hill station of Saputara. The population is mainly Muslim, with Hindus forming the majority of the rest. The main language spoken in Alipore is Gujarati, whilst English and Hindi can be understood by most. GENERAL Alipore was once well known for producing a handcrafted local cloth call Khadi, which was later replaced by electric hand looms producing fine cotton cloth.
